After topping several international dance charts in the US, Canada, and Europe, Kenny Gino and Mike T., a.k.a. MindInfluence Music, contributed to the “Heavy Hitters – Time To Jackk” compilation album – showcasing Detroit and Chicago artist. Released by Berlin label Disko B, and featuring Felix Da Housecat (appearing as Afrohead), Boo Williams, Norm Talley, and L.A. Williams; Kenny and Mike contributed three of the ten tracks featured on the release. Appearing as Ghetto Godfathers, they offered up the disco house floor banger “Love Junkie”. For the tech/electro sound of “We Are Matrix” they were disguised as Dark Matrix. But, the growing popularity of the Solid Gold Playaz brought them the most attention with the stirring emotion of “Heavenly Angel”.
With productions signed to respected techno and house labels such as Berlin’s Kanzleramt, Paris’ Silver Network, Chicago’s Loft66, Detroit’s Moods & Grooves, San Francisco’s Losonfono, and Miami’s Soulfuric Trax, they have appeared on such compilations as Hed Kandi’s “Disco Heaven” (Ministry of Sound – UK), Funk D’Void’s “In The Mix” (Cocoon Recordings – Germany), Miguel Migs and Jay-J’s “Defected In The House” (Defected Records – UK), Jazztronik’s “Jazztronica” (Tokuma Japan Communications – Japan), Heiko Laux’s “Kanzleramt 5″ (Kanzleramt Music – Germany), and “Global Underground 027 – Miami” mixed by Danny Howells (Global Underground – UK).
Using pseudonyms such as Solid Gold Playaz, Black Music, Techelectro, Soul Mediques, MindInfluence, Cozmic Jazzz Futurist, and Dark Matrix, their music has been featured in leading dance publications including multiple issues of URB Magazine, XLR8R Magazine, DJ Mag, London’s M8 Magazine, Nocturnal, and Groove Magazine. In total, they have amassed over 40 – 12 inch releases, highly acclaimed remixes, and two full length albums, gaining a varied and loyal following. Their music has found it’s way into record boxes, charts, compilations and radio show’s of some of the world’s top DJ’s including Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, DJ Slip, Juan Atkins, Andy Slate, Diego, Angel Molina, Chris Udoh, DJ Rasoul, Ron Trent, Paul Farris, Brian Zentz, Vince Watson, Ben Sims, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Demarkus Lewis, Gene Farris, Fabrice Lig, and Hernan Catteneo.
